Hair extensions should be washed maximum twice a week with the correct extension shampoo and conditioner.

If you natural hair needs more of a wash, then clip the extensions back out of the way and just wash parting/fringe area of you natural hair over the bath, avoiding to get the extensions wet.

With the correct soft brush, extensions need to be brushed daily to avoid matting.

To protect and keep the life of your extensions you will need the correct shampoo, conditions, heat protectors, leave in conditioning spray, serum or oil.

Avoid swimming with extensions but if you do then tie them up or wear a swimming cap so they are out of the water.

Keep heat styling to a bare minimum, try doing blowdrys instead.

When sleeping, place your hair in a loose plait or ponytail to avoid hair knotting and pulling in the night.

Aftercare

washing your extensions

Before washing brush out all tangles.

Wash your hair upright in the shower or laying back in the bath. Don't flip your hair upside down to wash.

Apply shampoo to root area and use gentle movements to wash your scalp. Try not to scrub hard around extensions and never scrub the ends of your hair.

Squeeze the excess water out and apply lots of conditioner to mid lengths and ends . Try not to get conditioner on the extension bonds and this may cause then to slip out. Leave the conditioner on for a least 5 mins. The longer you can leave the conditioner on the better.

Rinse hair thoroughly. Gently squeeze of excess water with a towel, do not use scrubbing motions.

Leave in conditioner, oil and heat protector should be sprayed on to your wet hair and then combed through with a suitable hair extension brush.

Dry the hair with the air flow pointing downwards on a setting that is not too hot.

Finish with applying a oil to the ends of the hair.

Heated styling tools such as straighteners and tongs are not recommended but if using them heat protector is a must!
